The Case For Airports

You never know where you can build a community of kind people. I’m sure over the holiday season a lot of people spent an amount of time in airports that they wish they could get back. Airports are great places to meet people and create communities because of the diversity and spontaneity that they demand. Next time you’re at an airport, reach out to someone! Help them with their bag, or ask them about how their flight went, or at the very least, give that pesky TSA officer a nice smile and a thank you after they inspect your bags.

As much as people say they can’t stand airports, there’s a certain romance to them.  There are people from different states, countries, and continents at airports.  Take your headphones off, take your earphones out, lift your head up from your travel guide for whichever beautiful destination you’re headed to.  Lift your head up and talk to someone!  Give someone a hello or a nice smile.  You never know what might happen or the friendships that you can make.  You can create a community of kindness during your layover.  All it takes is a simple smile.

Communities can be woven anytime and anywhere and YOU can be the catalyst to start that community. That is what being part of 1/1/1 is about. Start a community of kind and compassionate people today, wherever you are.
